Penthrox®, or methoxyflurane, distinguishes itself from other procedural analgesia with its self-administered, non-narcotic and non-sedating nature, delivered through a simple inhaler. Penthrox® targets the central nervous system to alleviate pain during medical procedures. Its rapid onset of action and versatility have made it a preferred choice for the various interventions we perform at North Toronto Surgical.

Its effects are characterized by a swift onset, offering patients prompt relief during various medical interventions. Additionally, the duration of Penthrox's analgesic effect is shorter than traditional sedating analegesia, ensuring that patients experience sustained pain relief throughout the course of the procedure, but also able to go home within an hour after the procedure.
